Generate inquiry questions

To facilitate the students’ generation of inquiry questions, Hidy provided them with various resources (e.g. videos, online resources, parent and teacher sharing) and raised stimulating questions such as “What do poverty mean to you?” and “What do you think are the major factors leading to poverty?” Also, the students had already had a field trip prior to the start of the module.

Identify good questions for inquiry

Examples of good questions raised by students:

  • What is poverty?
  • What are the factors causing poverty? Why?
  • How poverty affect the world?
  • Poverty happens anywhere?
  • How to help the poor out of poverty?
