Similar to previous years, students were given an authentic scenario (i.e. a short clip from a TV program) and asked to generate questions for inquiry.

Those questions were discussed in class and on KF. Hidy used different resources and activities to facilitate the discussion (e.g. field studies and experiments, seminars, interviewing the experts) by improving ideas and deepen understanding.

Examples of students’ discussion that illustrate how the difference in activities impact on quality of discourse:

  • The input of the video clip has improved the quality of students’ notes and questions:



  • Ms Tse demonstated the simulation program, Worldmaker in class and posted the question on Knowledge Forum. Students actively discussed the results of the simulation and below is one of the discussion threads:
